Mark Your Calendars: Here are January's Office Hours
Plus, some quick community announcements.
In this email, two quick things:
January dates and times!
Some quick updates on this group.
Let’s get to it.
Office Hours in January
As I mentioned before, I’m hosting two of them:
Thurs, Jan 11 @ 5pm ET: add to calendar
Fri, Jan 26 @ noon ET: add to calendar
Join one or both — whatever you want!
In these calls, my goal is to build upon lessons from our first call (which, if you missed it, is still viewable here). Among them…
More scheduling options. Many people couldn’t make the first call. So as you’ll see, I’m experimenting with timing — these calls are earlier and later, midweek and on a Friday. Let’s see what happens.
More connection. After the first call, many attendees tracked each other down to talk more. I love that! In these next calls, I want to make sure everyone can interact more directly.
I’ll share more details about each call as they get closer.
But now, building off the idea of connection…
What’s next for this community.
If you recently subscribed: Welcome! Please fill out this survey, and then we can schedule a time to chat 1:1.
If you’ve been here for a bit: I’ve been loving the 1:1 calls that I’ve already had, and look forward to connecting with everyone else soon.
As I’ve said from the start, I want to build this with you. I consider you all to be founding members. And the feedback you’re giving is very consistent:
A long, second email each week is too much. People are busy!
There are so many interesting people here, and everyone’s excited to connect with others.
Frankly, both these points bring me joy. The second email has been exhausting to write, and it is incredible to see who’s joined here. Everyone overlaps in interesting ways. Some of you are already collaborating.
So here’s what I’m going to do:
These Premium emails will become much shorter — more about community logistics, plus other quick value.
I’m actively looking for the best solution to bring people together, so that everyone can connect more casually, easily, and directly outside of Zoom.
More to come on all of that.
Now I’ll end with a note about beginnings: A new member (hi Fay!) suggested that I create a Premium-specific welcome email, which made me laugh — because yes, of course that should exist, and that’s exactly what I’d have pointed out to someone else in my situation. How did I overlook it? Here’s why: Because it’s funny what we don’t see when ~we~ are the ones in the trenches.
That’s why we have each other, right?
Anyway, I just added “onboarding process” to my to-do list.
I appreciate you all. Have an incredible holiday break.
